ROBBERY ALERT!!! Over the past four weeks, there have been numourous reported robberies and thefts from persons. We need to raise our awareness to help minimise our chances of becoming victims to this type of offending.
Vehicles Offenders are targeting vehicles parked on the street, some have been alarmed. Main form of entry is smashing car windows.
Burglary Main entry from jemmying or smashing windows and climbing in.
In some cases attempts have been made on windows while occupants are home with lights on but offenders were disturbed before they got inside. Unfortunately the police were not always called. These would have been a good opportunity for the tracker dogs if they had been.
Please remember if you disturb an offender to call 111 immediately.
Items being stolen include cameras, laptops, computer gear, jewellery, Ipods, mountain bikes and documents
The main times are working hours for Burglaries: Mon/Fri 8 am to 4pm and afternoons for theft from cars: Mon/Tues 1pm - 4pm
We all need to be really vigilant and if you would like some good tips on how to keep you and your home safer, please form a Neighbourhood Support Group feel free to contact your local Community Constable (listed on this website under contacts) They are more than happy to help you ensure you and your home is as safe as you can make it.
Call your Community Constable if you want any advice as the current criminal activity out there is of concern and we all need to take the time to consider how we can make ourselves safer while out in public.
LEAVE THEM NO OPPORTUNITY... it is far better to be pro-active than re-active. Your Community Constable's contact details are listed on this website for your convenience.
Stay safe & cheers till next week from the team at Neighbourhood Support Auckland
